Architecture with measurable outcomes

Tosin J. Akerele, Senior Frontend Engineer based in Lagos, Nigeria Tosin J. Akerele — Lagos, 2026

I design and scale complex web applications — the kind with 10,000+ synced records, multi-step data wizards, and real users who can't afford downtime.

At Babban Gona I lead frontend on AFaaS, an agricultural SaaS platform delivering Power BI–level analytics to 2,000+ farmers daily across Nigeria. Before that, four years at Stransact (RSM Nigeria) shipping products that replaced expensive subscriptions, paper processes, and slow workflows.

My happy place: turning a vague business requirement into an architecture that's still maintainable two years later.

An Apple-ecosystem-style universal clipboard, except it works on Windows too. A Next.js PWA that shares text across all my devices instantly — built because the feature I wanted didn't exist.

What I bring to a team

[ ⌬ ]

Frontend architecture

Polyrepo systems, multi-tenant SaaS, design systems, and component APIs (like AdvancedDataTable) adopted across 15+ modules.

[ ⚡ ]

Performance

Code-splitting, bundle analysis, and rendering strategy. −25% bundle size, −1.5s FCP, +50% app performance on past products.

[ ✓ ]

Testing & CI/CD

Took coverage from 10% to 80% with Jest + Cypress E2E pipelines, GitHub Actions, and Docker/Kubernetes workflows.

[ ⇆ ]

Full-stack range

Comfortable across the line — Laravel, InertiaJS, MySQL, REST APIs — so frontend decisions account for the whole system.

[ ▢ ]

Mobile

React Native rebuilds (iPaySuite) and PWA-first thinking for users on unreliable networks.

[ ✦ ]

Team leadership

Storybook adoption, code review culture, pair programming, and coding standards that cut review turnaround by 40%.
